Founder is asking

"honest q for the devs here: would you leave one clean sponsored line in your terminal if it paid you 50%? or is any ad a hard no?"

Overview

waitline started from a simple annoyance: every time you give claude code a task, it goes off and thinks, and you just sit there watching the spinner. that dead time adds up to a shocking amount of a developer's day, and it's real attention going nowhere. so we built waitline. while the agent is working, it shows one clean sponsored line in that wait spot. that's it. no popups, no tracking, no banner soup. it's fully opt-in and removable in one command. the developer keeps 50% of every impression, cashable as claude credit, so the time they spend waiting on claude literally helps pay for more claude. for advertisers, it's a way to reach a high-intent developer audience right inside the tool they live in, without the usual ad-blindness or creepiness. the format is a single respectful line, so it gets read instead of scrolled past. it's live today. developers we've never met are already earning from it, and we run our own house ads as starting inventory so the marketplace feels alive from day one. what's working: the respectful single-line format actually gets attention, and the "get paid while your AI thinks" hook lands with developers immediately. what's tricky: it's a two-sided marketplace, so we're growing the developer base and advertiser demand in step, and working on making earnings visible enough that developers want to share it. we're a small team building in public, and we read every reply.

Great idea. With the right marketing, I think there's huge upside here, so my answer is yes
